We have been very pleased with all aspects of First Light Home Care. Our first meeting with Stacey set us up feeling that we had made the right decision. We have had two caregivers and both have exceeded expectations. Their top priority is caring for my husband, though he naps frequently, allowing them to willingly do any tasks I leave for them, then go above and beyond finding other areas that need attention. They always give me a full report of what he ate and any activities. Also the caregivers and Tabitha are willing to adjust schedules if needed. Next week I’m looking forward to enjoying my grandson’s soccer game due to an adjusted schedule. Working with First Light has been a very positive experience.

FirstLight came into my life and compassionately helped me navigate the process of caring for my aging mom last spring and summer. The caregivers that came into her home and eventually into my home, were patient, kind, punctual, honest, and beyond helpful. FirstLight worked hard to provide a perfect match for my mom. My siblings and I all live many hours away from my parents who are elderly and suffering from medical problems and memory issues. First light has been very helpful and I have relied on them to communicate with me for any concerns that they have while their staff members visit my parents home weekly. They’ve been caring, helpful, friendly and well organized. I appreciate greatly that when we first started with First Light there was a visit with Stacey to do an initial assessment and then on the next visit, Stacey came with the person who would be caring for my mother to make the introduction. When that person left on a pregnancy leave, Stacey came out again to introduce the new caregiver to my mother. Continuity of care has been good and First Light does a good job of finding nice people to work for them who have related well to my mother (they are all background checked, drug tested and then trained to First Light’s standards as well). There have been no problems with scheduling and the billing has all been correct as well (thank you Tabitha and Matt). I initially found First Light after my mother was hospitalized and needed some help. My mother stabilized and so we put her care “on hold”, and resumed it again when other events occurred. First Light has been very flexible and accommodating and I have appreciated working with them very much. I plan to use them again when my parents needs change again. Thank you First Light!!!

My parents had an emergent situation and we were states apart. Stacey Mora the FirstLight care coordinator responded to my call immediately. She met us at my parents home even though they did not have a caregiver that worked in the area. At the interview Stacey made us aware that we may be eligible for VA benefits. She got the VA approval for us, a miracle! She gave me names of other companies that might have a care provider in the area. We found a different provider and Stacey immediately transferred the VA order to the other company so my parents would have the care they needed. This is my first experience with Care Givers. I was afraid I would lose my independence and privacy. To the contrary, my privacy and independence is respected at all times. Most of the time they take on tasks without asking. When asked, the requested tasks are completed with efficiency and faster than expected. They remind me of my medication times, take me to all appointments or anyplace I want to go. FirsLight Care Givers are friendly, compassionate and efficient. If I feel I need “ my space or quiet time” they graciously honor my request.

I am extremely grateful to FirstLight Home Care for their excellent, caring service provided following major abdominal surgery in July 2023. With my wife in an assisted living facility, I’m used to being alone and self-reliant. However, this surgery made being such much more difficult. I’m glad I let FirstLight assist me in these more trying circumstances. Not only were their representatives’ hard workers, but they brought a cheerfulness into my home that helped me deal better with the pain and frustrations experienced following my surgery. The FirstLight workers were efficient in doing laundry and basic cleaning for me, as well as food preparation. They were proactive in making sure that things were done right. I also had them move some boxes and, under my direction, sort individual document files so that I could later work with them more efficiently. Beyond the temporal tasks, I enjoyed my conversations with them, something I needed as much or more of than just the tasks accomplished. I was treated with kindness and respect and felt like I had family there with me. I would add that I was impressed with the FirstLight administrator, Stacey Mora, who was both kind and clear as to the services to be rendered and the person(s) who would be with me. I was not disappointed. The apprehension I had prior to their arrival was immediately dispelled. I would recommend FirstLight Home Care to others in similar pain or need.

The service we have received from first light has been excellent! Recently we were in the “leave immediately” zone during the Athol fire. I was at my office in Coeur d’Alene, and our care provider helped my husband get our animals, important papers, medication’s, etc. together to get out of the danger area. She opened the chicken coop and turned on sprinklers before they left, and kept me apprised of what was going on via text messages. It was an immense relief to know that, even though I couldn’t get home, everything was taken care of. We love our care provider, and she has become part of our family. Sometimes I think our animals like her better than they do us!

How do I put into words the gratitude I have for the First Light team? From the administrative staff through the incredible crew of caregivers, First Light Home Care is truly a quality company. They are team players that ensure that you are included in the team. As it is for many, initially it was a difficult step to take, inviting “strangers” into Mom and Dad’s home. Our parents were a bit resistant having help. Almost immediately though, the caregivers that were matched with my parents became their friends. My parents enjoyed having the help and the company. I am thrilled to leave a 2nd review of FirstLight Home Care. My husband has Parkinson’s and has had several back surgeries.
